(1) 3D TLC for Industrial Market:
Original IC, 10K Endurance, Longevity Support

Industrial 3D TLC SSD Features:

  • 64 Layers is 3D NAND's Sweet Spot: High-end consumer devices will benefit from 64-layer 3D NAND first, and as it expands downstream, it will also find its way into mobile, embedded and enterprise products.
  • New SSD Controllers support 3D TLC: New PCIe or SATA host controllers will support 3D TLC. Reliability and write endurance will be improved due to the inclusion of an LDPC ECC engine with RAID and SRAM ECC upgrades. And new “End-to-end Data Path Protection” ensures the integrity of every bit of data as it is transmitted between the host and SSD, and between buffer memory and NAND flash.
  • 10K Enhanced Endurance for 3D TLC: Micron B17A FortisMaxTM original flash chip supports up to 10K endurance which benefits industrial use.
  • Over 3 Year Longevity Support: So far the Micron B17A roadmap indicates steady product supply until 2022 Q4.
  • Bigger Capacity: A single device size starts from 512Gb.
  • Multiple Footprints for Compact Systems: PCIe and SATA based SSD form factors include 2.5-inch SSD, M.2, and BGA SSD.

2. Up to 3 times faster PCIe is the perfect upgrade choice

PCIe technology enables interface speeds of up to1GB/s per client lane (PCIe 3.0), versus today's SATA technology speeds of up to 0.6GB/s (SATA 3.0). And with that, more lanes from SATA require more SATA devices, while PCIe bandwidth can be scaled to up to 16 lanes on a single device.
Main features for NVMe PCIe SSD:

  • Better read/write performance: PCIe is up to 3-4 times faster than SATA.
  • Budget friendly: The difference in price between SATA and PCIe SSDs is not significantly higher than previously.
  • Ideal for industrial upgrades: PCIe is a server-grade option suitable for faster boot times and high-speed transmission AIoT applications such as industrial robots and smart cars.

3. High capacity SSD for easy storage and backup

Now terabyte SATA or PCIe SSD are used in the industrial market. They offer huge capacity with enough storage space to ease the problem caused by long-time operation.
High capacity SSD features:

  • Supports continued heavy read/write: Ideal for surveillance and in-vehicle transportation intensive operation requirements. Sufficient storage space helps performance and efficiency for specific secured and moving environments.
  • Optimized SSD lifespan and performance: Many industrial users count SSD life using Total Terabytes Written (TBW) and Drive Writes Per Day (DWPD). Larger figures mean longer life and higher endurance. High-capacity SSD normally has more spare space for wear leveling and garbage collection, reducing write amplification to improve the total SSD user efficiency, especially in peak hour's work loading.
